About the Role

The Electrical Engineer role will strengthen Stantec's Electrical Discipline across New Zealand and support the existing project backlog. The position involves work on industrial, power, hydro, and infrastructure projects, delivering multimillion‑dollar, multidisciplinary assignments in New Zealand, North America, Australia, and the Pacific. You will contribute to electrical work packages as part of a project Electrical team under a Principal Engineer, collaborating with Mechanical and Process engineers. The role includes client‑facing opportunities and site work, offering variety in daily tasks and the chance to grow into work‑package leadership while learning from local and global experts. • Deliver electrical work packages on industrial, power, hydro, and infrastructure projects across NZ and internationally. • Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers and engage with clients and utility companies. • Apply NZ/Australian electrical design standards and use Electrical CAD/modeling software. • Manage own delivery within diverse, remote‑team environments while maintaining strong client relationships.

What You Bring

Candidates should have technical experience in electrical engineering for infrastructure and industrial projects, knowledge of NZ or Australian electrical systems, and familiarity with relevant AS/NZS standards. Proficiency with Electrical CAD and modelling software, strong communication, teamwork, stakeholder management, and self‑management skills are essential. Key requirements are a BE Electrical (or equivalent) degree and a minimum of six years of professional experience in consulting or engineering; CPEng or equivalent is preferred but not essential. • Progress to work‑package leadership under guidance of a Principal Engineer. • Hold a BE Electrical (or equivalent) with 6+ years consulting/engineering experience; CPEng preferred. • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and self‑management abilities.
