About the Role

The incumbent will be responsible for procuring goods and services required by the organization, covering both indirect operations such as office supplies, computers, travel and maintenance, and direct operations like raw materials and manufacturing services. Core procurement activities include product and service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing and terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management, with occasional strategic sourcing. Key contributions involve creating an accurate system to monitor open purchase orders, delivering weekly PO reports, collaborating with the inventory team to verify deliveries, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels. The professional will ensure timely material availability from both import and local sources, reduce stock obsolescence by optimizing procurement quantities, follow demand plans for long‑lead‑time items, and generate real‑time material availability reports while complying with internal and external regulations. • Manage procurement of indirect and direct goods/services, including sourcing, negotiation, order processing, and contract administration. • Serve as focal point for material planning and purchasing, coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders. • Develop and maintain an accurate system to monitor open purchase orders and generate weekly PO reports. • Ensure deliveries match purchase orders, track back‑orders, and support inventory level maintenance. • Secure timely material availability from import and local sources, providing required documentation for production. • Reduce stock obsolescence by optimizing procurement quantities and identifying cost‑saving opportunities. • Implement material procurement strategy for long‑lead‑time items based on customer demand plans. • Prepare master tracking sheets and real‑time material availability reports for manufacturing plans. • Handle procurement for CAPEX, indirect, consumable, and production parts in compliance with regulations. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity core values in all activities.

What You Bring

This is an Experienced Professional (P2) position that works independently with general supervision. The role demands a quick‑learning, result‑oriented individual who will act as the focal point for material planning and purchasing, coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders and influencing colleagues through clear communication of facts, policies, and practices. Candidates should hold a BE/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and possess five to eight years of relevant experience. Required skills include advanced knowledge of SAP MM, strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, a solid grasp of MRP/ERP systems and JIT principles, and fluent spoken and written English. • Hold a BE/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with 5–8 years of relevant experience. • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SAP MM and strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Possess thorough understanding of MRP/ERP systems, material management standards, and JIT principles (Kanban, pull system). • Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
