About the Role

The Overhead Distribution Lineman C supports the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while in training, performing construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for electricity transmission and distribution. This hourly position pays $34.00 and works closely with the Lineman team and other department personnel. • Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution power lines. • Connect, disconnect, install, remove, move, and transfer electrical devices such as transformers, regulators, and switches. • Route or reroute power lines around existing structures. • Inspect and remove damaged power lines. • Assist with pole installation, hole digging, and pole setting or replacement. • Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed. • Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized distribution lines. • Provide backup for Class B Apprentice Lineman and complete related duties. • Submit all Apprentice Program documentation in a timely manner. • Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment. • Drive a bucket truck to job sites and maintain its inventory.

What You Bring

The role requires frequent bending, squatting, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in inclement weather such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. Employees must have clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors while performing physically demanding tasks. • High school diploma or equivalent. • At least one year of lineman experience. • Valid Class A CDL. • Two or more years of lineman experience (preferred). • OSHA 10 Certification (preferred).
