About the Role

The Industrial Journeyman Insulator installs insulating materials on pipes, ducts, and equipment to meet project specifications. Work is performed on various job sites, often at heights, and includes maintaining clean and safe work areas. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, quantities, and material sizes. • Identify required tools, materials, and safety precautions. • Measure, mark, and cut wood, metal, and insulation to specifications. • Fabricate, fit, and shape insulating material around equipment. • Mix and apply paint and coatings as needed. • Use proper techniques to install or replace insulation. • Work safely at heights, ladders, scaffolds, and platforms. • Clean and maintain work areas. • Follow all safety, company, and site regulations. • Use hands to handle tools and materials.

What You Bring

The position requires seasoned insulation experience, reliable transportation, required tools, and strict adherence to safety and site regulations. Physical stamina is essential to handle prolonged standing, lifting, and the use of personal protective equipment. • Possess 4+ years experience as an Insulator or Helper on industrial projects. • Proficiently read blueprints, plans, and drawings. • Knowledge of insulation types and applications. • Ability to handle and place insulation on equipment, ductwork, and piping. • Reliable transportation and required tools. • Preferred: current or former Zachry employee, NCCER certification, technical education, scaffolding and painting experience. • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, and work at heights. • Communicate effectively using voice and hearing. • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, boots).
