About the Role

The role involves providing technical transport planning input across a variety of development planning assignments, working closely with colleagues from Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental disciplines. You will develop project‑management and commercial capabilities while leading transport planning contributions on selected projects, supported by a multidisciplinary team. • Conduct transport assessments, travel plans, access strategies, parking strategies, and sustainable active‑travel provisions in line with NPPF and DfT guidance. • Prepare traffic flow information for use in transport assessments and environmental statements. • Operate junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, including input preparation, output analysis, and scenario testing. • Produce conceptual junction designs covering priority layouts, roundabouts, and signal schemes. • Communicate technical findings confidently to clients, project teams, and external stakeholders. • Share expertise and mentor colleagues on specialized transport planning topics. • Utilise standard Office tools (Excel, Word) for data analysis and reporting. • Access the “WSP My Hour” programme to allocate one hour daily for personal activities with flexible make‑up time. • Participate in health and wellbeing initiatives such as Thrive, virtual GP, Gymflex discounts, and menopause support. • Join employee resource groups that foster inclusivity and belonging across diverse backgrounds.
