About the Role
Under general direction, the Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and operating comprehensive building control systems—including fire, security, lighting, nurse‑call, and data networks—to satisfy project requirements. They ensure design quality, timeliness, and efficiency for field teams and produce detailed submittals for customers, consultants, and installation crews. The role involves creating flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics, as well as developing and testing software programs that meet the intended system performance. Coordination of drawings, equipment schedules, material procurement, and factory‑mounting processes is required to keep projects on schedule. The engineer assists with loading, commissioning, and validating system functionality, troubleshoots issues alongside subcontractors, and supplies change information for as‑built documentation. What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least seven years of relevant experience or an associate degree coupled with equivalent work history, solid knowledge of construction, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC domains, familiarity with mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, control theory, and low‑voltage protocols such as LON and BACnet, and advanced computer skills with drafting tools like Visio. Preferred qualifications feature a bachelor’s degree in engineering, understanding of IP networking for building automation, and experience with the Tridium/Niagara framework. • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience or associate degree with equivalent work history. • Proficient with mechanical/electrical drawings, control theory, low‑voltage protocols (LON, BACnet), and drafting tools such as Visio. • Preferred: bachelor's in engineering, knowledge of IP networking for building automation, and experience with Tridium/Niagara framework.
