About the Role
In this role the coordinator will develop and maintain productive relationships with utility agencies, manage project tracking systems, lead utility and roadway coordination meetings, and prepare status reports, designs, calculations, and presentation drawings. They will estimate technical effort, oversee the design team’s collaboration, guide junior designers, and act as the liaison between engineers, contractors, governmental agencies, and the public to resolve utility conflicts. • Foster positive relationships with utility agencies and stakeholders. • Create and update issue tracking systems to resolve utility and roadway concerns. • Conduct and document utility coordination meetings with FDOT and other agencies. • Generate status reports, design drawings, calculations, and presentation materials. • Estimate project technical effort and manage design team collaboration. • Supervise junior designers and guide utility coordinators on complex tasks. • Prepare and review FDOT utility permit applications and utility work packages. • Negotiate design consultant scopes and allocate staff resources. • Apply FDOT, FHWA, and AASHTO standards in utility coordination activities.

What You Bring
The position requires a BA/BS degree with at least six years of relevant experience (or equivalent education and experience), a valid U.S. driver’s license, and U.S. citizenship. Candidates must have extensive utility and roadway construction coordination experience, familiarity with FDOT, FHWA and AASHTO standards, and proficiency in software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. • Hold a BA/BS (or equivalent) with 6+ years of utility coordination experience and a valid driver’s license. • U.S. citizenship required for project work.
