About the Role
The role is responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and managing the performance of all drivers and helpers. It emphasizes building positive relationships with frontline employees and involves spending the majority of the day in the field alongside them. The position operates in a hybrid environment, combining office tasks with plant and field activities, and regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. It also includes travel to customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety concerns. • Provide tools, instruction, and feedback to new frontline employees for daily duties. • Meet daily with new frontline employees to ensure consistent communication and onboarding support. • Maintain regular touchpoints with frontline employees to monitor progress. • Review best practices to enhance daily performance. • Support frontline employees in achieving their career goals. • Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with employees for success. • Conduct coaching conversations and actively seek feedback. • Lead by example to enforce safety practices. • Teach and develop understanding of the WM Way. • Conduct root cause investigations for injuries and incidents, applying discipline and retraining. • Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation. • Review and audit daily route operation documentation (DVIRs, time and attendance, tickets) and follow up as needed. • Visit customers and sites to assess and resolve safety issues, exploring service alternatives.

What You Bring
The role may require air travel for business purposes, so candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative, or be willing to obtain one. • Associate's degree or high school diploma with two years of relevant experience. • Must be at least 18 years old, legally eligible to work, and hold a valid driver's license. • Preferred: Successful completion of the WM Operations Manager Trainee program.
