About the Role

The Stationary Equipment Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks to ensure safe and productive operations. Work includes routine maintenance of hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyor systems, and compactors. Key duties involve diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs and preventative maintenance, replacing parts such as pistons, gears, valves, bearings, conveyor belts, motors, and hydraulic cylinders, and reading vehicle condition reports to coordinate solutions with supervisors and operators. The technician also completes required paperwork, daily consumables reports, and may handle plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks while adhering to safety policies. • Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, and technical manuals. • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on recycling equipment, heavy machinery, and light trucks. • Replace components such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, conveyor belts, electrical motors, and hydraulic cylinders. • Read and interpret vehicle condition reports and repair orders; communicate with supervisors and equipment operators. • Document parts usage, work order times, and complete daily consumables reports for fleet management software. • Repair and install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as needed. • Maintain safety compliance and conduct maintenance on rolling stock (forklifts, skid steers, trailers, front loaders).

What You Bring

Preferred candidates have PLC troubleshooting skills, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, prior manufacturing and conveyor experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical or trade school certificate. Minimum qualifications include at least one year of related equipment maintenance experience or a trade school certification. • PLC troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with mechanical/electrical aptitude. • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and working with conveyors. • Valid driver’s license. • Mechanical or trade school certificate; minimum one year of related equipment maintenance experience.
