About the Role

The Project Manager (PM) serves as the senior representative of the contracting entity, providing strategic leadership and governance for complex, high‑value infrastructure projects within a live aviation environment. The role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget and to specification while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and stakeholder requirements. In governance and compliance, the PM establishes robust structures, presents at governance boards and change‑control meetings, and implements performance‑management frameworks to report KPIs, financials and risk mitigation to senior leadership. The PM also ensures adherence to NEC and other contract forms, managing compensation events and change‑control processes. Programme delivery leadership involves overseeing multiple concurrent projects, developing and implementing Project Execution Plans, and embedding innovative and sustainable approaches such as embodied carbon reduction. The PM drives operational readiness and handover (ORAT), applies phased construction methodologies to minimise disruption, and supports programming to provide clarity for stakeholder buy‑in and contractor delivery. Stakeholder management requires the PM to develop and execute an engagement plan, manage relationships with clients and regulatory bodies, and facilitate collaboration across integrated delivery teams, design consultants and contractors. The PM represents the programme at executive‑level meetings, communicating progress, risks and strategic decisions clearly. Team leadership focuses on building and mentoring a high‑performing team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, providing technical, contractual and performance guidance and developing resourcing strategies to meet programme demands. Commercial and contract management duties include negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement within e‑tender thresholds, and ensuring cost certainty and contract fixity. • Lead governance structures, present at boards, ensure compliance with NEC and contractual change control. • Oversee delivery of multiple concurrent infrastructure projects, develop Project Execution Plans, embed sustainable practices such as embodied carbon reduction. • Drive operational readiness (ORAT) and phased construction to minimize disruption in live aviation environments. • Create and execute stakeholder engagement plans, liaise with clients, regulators, design consultants and contractors. • Build and mentor a high‑performing team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, providing technical and contractual guidance. • Manage commercial aspects: negotiate with suppliers, control procurement within e‑tender thresholds, maintain cost certainty. • Administer contracts under NEC (and other forms), handle scope documents, change control and document approvals.
