About the Role

Key responsibilities include ensuring strict compliance with Mitchell‑Lama rules, overseeing income verification, wait‑list management, and annual income affidavits, and preparing required reports for state and city agencies such as HCR, HPD, and HUD. The AEGM also guarantees that the development remains audit‑ready for government and internal reviews, and manages the electronic submission process for annual affidavits. The role involves training and coaching management staff, establishing performance standards, and collaborating regularly with department heads, building and townhouse associations to address community needs. Additional duties encompass supervising multiple departments, managing capital improvement projects and budgets, representing the Executive General Manager at governmental meetings, monitoring expenditures, handling resident complaints, enforcing house rules, and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, Section 504, and ADA regulations. The AEGM will assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets, oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations for administrative staff, and attend court proceedings for lease violations or evictions when required. The position demands a focus on fiscal soundness, high resident satisfaction, and adherence to New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) and other applicable regulations. • Ensure strict compliance with Mitchell‑Lama rules and guidelines. • Oversee income verification, wait‑list management, and annual income affidavits. • Prepare and submit required reports to HCR, HPD, HUD, and other agencies. • Maintain audit‑ready status for government and internal reviews. • Manage electronic submission of annual income affidavits accurately and timely. • Coordinate move‑ins, move‑outs, and unit turnovers for wait‑list entries. • Train and coach management staff and set performance standards. • Meet regularly with department heads and community associations to address needs. • Supervise corporate administrative services, automotive services, leasing, parking, and capital construction. • Hire, train, and evaluate administrative staff performance. • Manage capital improvement projects, vendor relations, and bidding processes. • Assist in preparing and monitoring annual operating and capital budgets. • Represent the Executive General Manager at meetings with elected officials. • Monitor expenditures, review invoices, and ensure alignment with budget projections. • Handle resident complaints and inquiries professionally and diplomatically. • Enforce house rules, occupancy agreements, and relevant regulatory programs. • Attend court proceedings for lease violations or evictions as needed. • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, Section 504, and ADA regulations.
