About the Role
Working under general supervision, the engineer will support field activities on diverse environmental projects, such as site assessments, remediation, compliance programs, Phase I investigations, and sampling/monitoring. Responsibilities include subsurface investigations, quality‑control oversight, engineering calculations, data validation, and report preparation. The role also involves collaborating with project managers to meet client expectations regarding schedule, budget, and deliverables, while adhering to safety and company policies. • Provide field support for site assessments, remediation, compliance programs, Phase I ESA, and environmental sampling/monitoring. • Conduct subsurface investigations, including drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging, and media sampling. • Maintain quality‑control standards for accurate measurements and data collection. • Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and prepare technical reports. • Generate documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks, including graphical and tabular data presentations. • Collaborate with project managers to achieve project objectives, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. • Follow safety guidelines, sample‑collection procedures, and maintain proper logbooks. • Complete assigned training and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental, civil, or geological engineering (or a related field) and have up to one year of relevant experience. The ideal applicant demonstrates strong research, analytical, and communication skills, is proficient in Microsoft Office and technical writing, and can work both independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, willingness to travel, and compliance with safety and drug‑testing policies are required. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental, civil, or geological engineering (or related discipline). • 0–1 year of relevant post‑education experience. • Strong research, analytical, and technical writing abilities. • Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations, and compliance documentation. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective interpersonal communication. • Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work. • Physical ability to lift/carry equipment up to 50 lb and willingness to travel locally, nationally, and internationally. • Pass drug test, physical, background check; hold a valid driver’s license. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred). • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification with 8‑hour refresher (preferred). • DOT Hazardous Materials, CPR, and First Aid certifications (preferred). • Prior internship in the relevant engineering discipline (preferred). • Active participation in professional practice organizations (preferred).
