About the Role
The incumbent will lead sustainability projects, implement electrification of central plants and building systems per the Board of Trustees’ Clean Energy Resolution, and apply sustainable building principles to complex system issues. They will support district‑wide energy master planning, carbon‑reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification initiatives, and ensure integration of LED lighting, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart controls. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and project managers is required to meet project timelines, and the Engineer will provide technical assistance, peer reviews of RF‑Cs and change orders, and travel to project sites for meetings. Involvement spans the entire project life cycle—from master planning through design, construction, and closeout—while producing engineering analyses and technical reports aligned with district guidelines. • Lead and manage sustainability projects for college construction bond operations. • Implement electrification of central plants and building systems per Clean Energy Resolution. • Apply sustainable building principles and LEED/CHPS standards to complex system issues. • Support district‑wide energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification initiatives. • Ensure integration of LED lighting, photovoltaic, battery energy storage, EV charging, microgrids, and smart controls. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project managers to meet timelines and technical requirements. • Provide peer reviews of RF‑Cs, change orders, and other technical issues for College Project Teams. • Conduct electrical engineering analysis and produce technical reports following district guidelines. • Travel to project sites for construction meetings as needed.

The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate in educational facility construction to serve as an Engineer IV (Electrical) – Sustainability for a large educational client in Los Angeles County. The role includes a range of duties related to sustainable engineering and project delivery. The position is tied exclusively to bond‑eligible activities such as planning, design, construction, commissioning, and related project‑management functions required to deliver capital improvements under the LACCD Capital Construction Bond Program and its legal limitations. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ten or more years of electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure, and strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24, NEC, and Cal Green. Preferred qualifications are two years of educational facility construction experience, LEED or CHPS certification, and a California PE license. • Minimum: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years experience, strong knowledge of Title 24, NEC, Cal Green. • Preferred: 2 years educational facility construction, LEED/CHPS certification, California PE license.
