About the Role
• Lead the administration of enterprise network and system environments supporting USCIS mission systems and users. • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, DevOps, and application development teams to integrate systems securely. • Design and implement secure network architectures, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, and cloud-based network integrations (AWS, Azure). • Ensure adherence to DHS/USCIS cybersecurity policies and frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles. • Utilize enterprise monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds, Nagios) to proactively detect and resolve system or network issues. • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including SOPs, network diagrams, system baselines, and change logs. • Provide Tier III support for complex technical issues and mentor junior administrators and technicians. • Participate in or lead technical working groups, briefings, and technical deep dives for USCIS leadership and stakeholders. • Support contingency planning, backup and recovery strategies, and business continuity efforts. • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtualized server environments (Windows/Linux), routers, switches, and firewalls. • Support audits, security assessments, and ATO (Authority to Operate) efforts under the RMF process. • Manage and maintain enterprise services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, file and print services, and identity management systems. • Review and apply STIGs, IAVAs, and perform patch management and vulnerability remediation.

What You Bring
• Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP) and security controls implementation. • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS, and Azure (including hybrid/cloud migration). • 7+ years of experience in enterprise network and systems administration, with increasing levels of responsibility. • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. • Expertise in Windows Server administration, Linux systems (Red Hat/CentOS), and Active Directory infrastructure. • CompTIA Security+, CASP+. • Familiarity with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. • Cisco CCNP/CCNA. • Experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, Python). • Professional certifications such as: • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator/Architect. • Proficiency in managing enterprise networks (Cisco, Juniper), firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and load balancers. • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator. • Previous experience supporting DHS, USCIS, or other federal civilian agencies. • Experience managing ITIL-based service operations and change control. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). • VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
