About the Role

The Coordinator, Communications supports the club’s sporting public‑relations program and provides administrative assistance to the communications department. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, the role works with internal production teams and external media outlets—both domestic and international—to secure coverage. The position follows LAFC’s hybrid schedule, requiring at least two days per week in the office. The coordinator plays a central role in the club’s communications ecosystem, collaborating with internal teams and external media to deliver timely information and maintain the club’s public image. Responsibilities span media liaison, game‑day operations, content creation, and support for broader club initiatives. • Coordinate and schedule players for internal media and marketing initiatives. • Facilitate media and broadcast interview requests for players and coaches. • Create media pitches that highlight players, coaches, and staff on and off the field. • Monitor news, distribute media clips, and respond promptly to department inbox messages. • Attend home games to manage media hosting, check‑ins, seating assignments, and statistical distribution. • Process media credentials for local and visiting media for each match. • Supervise part‑time game‑day staff and prepare press‑box, conference room, and photography areas. • Research, write, and edit media guides, rosters, bios, game notes, press releases, and other club materials. • Coordinate production logistics to ensure high‑quality, sustainable, and user‑friendly publications. • Upload and maintain media assets on LAFC and MLS portals for quick, accurate distribution. • Represent club PR on selected road trips and away matches throughout the season. • Provide administrative and clerical support to the communications department. • Collaborate with community relations to promote coverage of team activations in the local community. • Assist with public relations efforts for LAFC2, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree and have prior experience in sports communications or public relations at the professional or collegiate level. They must possess deep knowledge of MLS, soccer terminology, and strong storytelling skills, along with detail‑orientation, self‑motivation, and excellent organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, effective English communication, and the willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and travel with a valid U.S. passport are required; bilingual Spanish or Korean is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • Experience in sports communications or public relations at the professional or collegiate level. • Strong knowledge of Major League Soccer, soccer statistics, and terminology. • Proven storytelling ability to optimize team messaging and storylines. • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated with a strong work ethic. • Excellent organizational, time‑management and multitasking skills. • Ability to handle confidential information and work in an unstructured, fast‑paced environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Strong written and verbal English communication; Spanish or Korean a plus. • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and travel with a valid U.S. passport.
