About the Role

The Equipment Commissioning Manager (EqCM) supports the Equipment North America organization on startup, warranty, and service coordination, reporting initially to the Regional Service Manager and later to the Branch Service Manager while being accountable to the HVAC Equipment Operations Manager. The role serves as the single point of contact for equipment contract service scope, works closely with the Customer Resource Coordinator, and ensures alignment with customer expectations and contract requirements. • Supports EqNA sales during project estimate by specifying whether service can be performed as an S/R or requires a Service Mechanical project based on duration, size, complexity, and project management needs. • Provides custom quotes for service items outside of the Program, Commission, Adjust, and Train (PCAT) policy. • Verifies branch service technicians are trained for secured contracts and coordinates training with the Truck Based Service Manager as needed. • Attends RTO meetings for complex projects or those with Planned Service Agreements to identify service or warranty scope concerns. • Validates Planned Service Agreement details with the SAE/Agent Project Owner and supplies required documentation. • Conducts weekly service turnover meetings with SAEs and the Branch Operations Manager to coordinate and monitor current and future service scopes. • Works with customers to introduce Connected Service capabilities. • Coordinates directly with EqNA customers for all scheduled work and schedule changes. • Works with CRC and SAE to verify asset records are created in NxGen and assigned to the correct site for future service requests or quotes. • Collaborates with CRC and technicians on FOB Destination deliveries and communicates updates to the SAE and customer. • Ensures warranty information is correctly displayed in Warranty Navigator and resolves discrepancies with the SAE and Warranty Admin team. • Monitors Long‑Term Storage requirements and coordinates with the SAE and customer. • Promotes the use of Pronto Forms by customers for pre‑startup checklists and by technicians for startup, inspections, and warranty work. • Ensures startup is completed, resolves any issues, and provides customers with startup documentation. • Enters startup dates for assets in NxGen and registers all serviced equipment in Warranty Navigator, providing warranty certification to the customer. • Works with CRCs to ensure all service requests are invoiced promptly upon scope completion. • Acts as the first point of contact for warranty requests, coordinating with CRC and the Warranty Service Coordinator to dispatch technicians and file claims. • Escalates and resolves issues preventing warranty work completion, including parts and resource availability, and works with technical support to accelerate cash collections. • Facilitates technical support for EqNA customers as needed.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of industry experience or a technical engineering or construction degree. • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Writer, and basic Windows operating systems. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. • Good conflict resolution skills. • Ability to positively represent Johnson Controls and communicate with varying technical levels. • Demonstrated ability to manage a large, diverse number of projects simultaneously with professionalism and persistence. • Demonstrated organizational abilities and attention to detail. • BA degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred). • HVAC equipment knowledge (preferred). • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (preferred).
