About the Role
The Geotechnical Engineer will be part of the engineering and technical function within the civil work programme, reporting to the Geotechnical Manager. The role is responsible for managing geotechnical risks, establishing and endorsing geotechnical requirements on behalf of the SZC client, and ensuring designers and contractors adhere to those requirements. • Support onshore and offshore ground investigations. • Manage site trials and ground improvement activities. • Oversee earthworks and material testing. • Manage groundwater control and flood‑prevention measures. • Support foundations, marine works and tunnelling. • Assess ground movements near nuclear assets. • Maintain the digital ground model. • Oversee instrumentation and monitoring. • Coordinate with designers and delivery teams. • Engage with regulators and key stakeholders. • Deliver complex multidisciplinary engineering projects. • Communicate effectively across construction, design and stakeholder interfaces.
