About the Role

The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the supervisor and ensures safe repair and rebuild of PVC extrusion production equipment, with a primary focus on maximizing equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield. The role suits individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to resolve both electrical and mechanical issues while following strict safety procedures. • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance following LOTO and safety guard protocols. • Monitor inventory, order parts, and verify receipts as needed. • Use maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status. • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair machinery. • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalating when necessary. • Conduct breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers. • Identify and report safety, quality, or operational issues that cannot be resolved independently. • Diagnose problems using precision instruments while observing mechanical devices in operation. • Fabricate repair parts with machine shop tools and equipment. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations. • Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required. • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to problem‑solving efforts. • Comply with OSHA standards, hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomic guidelines. • Promote a culture of health and safety in line with company policies.

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of heavy manufacturing maintenance experience. • High school diploma required; apprenticeship, journeyman, military service, or equivalent training preferred. • Proficient with hand/power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings. • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs. • Effective communication in English and basic math skills. • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment. • Ability to pass job‑related testing, physical assessment, and drug screening. • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate. • Lift up to 50 lb, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform various physical motions as required.
