About the Role

As a Senior Diesel/CNG Mechanic you will service the fleet that supports over 20 million customers, performing high‑skill maintenance on diesel and, at certain sites, compressed natural‑gas trucks. Work is performed in a dedicated repair shop at the Liverpool, NY hauling site during a stable Monday‑through‑Friday second‑shift schedule with no weekend requirements. The role emphasizes safety, using modern tools and procedures while ensuring every vehicle leaves the shop ready to support the local community. • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diverse diesel and CNG vehicles. • Estimate labor and material costs for repairs and new parts. • Respond promptly to emergency breakdown service calls. • Perform vehicle safety inspections and document findings. • Record parts usage and repair hours on required paperwork. • Review and assign tasks from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area and follow safety procedures.

What You Bring

The position requires at least four years of relevant mechanic experience, a clean‑record driver’s license, and the ability to meet the physical demands of frequent lifting, standing, and working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions. Candidates must be at least 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, and able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical. WM looks for team‑oriented problem solvers who enjoy variety, can work independently, and prioritize safety for themselves and the community. • Complete work within established Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). • Minimum four years of relevant mechanical experience. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Age 18 or older and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Capable of meeting physical demands such as lifting, standing, and working in various weather conditions. • Pass pre‑employment drug screening and physical examination.
