About the Role

The General Laborer-Spotter position offers an entry-level opportunity to build a rewarding career in clearing and maintaining the nation's Power Grid. As a General Laborer-Spotter, you will assist in the removal, clearing, and maintenance of civil, matting, and forestry clearance efforts, contributing to the safety and efficiency of critical infrastructure. The role requires flexibility to join storm restoration efforts, operate vehicles and equipment safely, and participate in ongoing training to improve technical and leadership skills. Employees must adhere to safety rules, inspect PPE, maintain tools and vehicles, and perform rigorous physical labor in various outdoor conditions. • Secure safety of self and others using proper tools, safety equipment, and PPE. • Conduct visual observations and safety checks during vegetation management and clearing. • Assist fellow workers in meeting project objectives. • Join storm restoration efforts when needed. • Operate vehicles and equipment professionally and safely. • Participate in ongoing training to improve technical and leadership skills. • Properly inspect personal protective equipment (PPE). • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Work outside frequently in inclement weather. • Duly follow established safety rules and company policy.

What You Bring

Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights or confined spaces, and exposure to inclement weather, fumes, vibration, and loud noise. The work environment is outdoors, subject to diverse weather and occasional extreme conditions at construction sites. • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. • Valid driver’s license. • Commercial Driver’s License strongly preferred. • Ability to travel long distances on short notice. • Availability to join storm restoration efforts. • Ability to work extended periods in various locations. • Ability to lift over 50 lb. • Willingness to work overtime when requested. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Understand when to wear PPE. • Perform rigorous physical labor. • Understand proper use of company radio. • Understand proper use and maintenance of hand tools. • Work at heights and/or confined spaces. • Read, write, and communicate effectively. • Self‑motivated. • Punctual. • Excellent communication skills.
