About the Role
Interns will contribute to traffic safety, ITS, and traffic operations, analyze vehicular and pedestrian crash data, and research alternative design solutions. They will support the development of specifications, drawings, and graphics, and assist in preparing conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, and schematic drawings. Collaboration with the full design team and adherence to technical and QMS procedures are essential. • Analyze vehicular and pedestrian crash data. • Research alternate design solutions and white‑paper options. • Develop specifications, drawings, and illustrative graphics. • Assist in creating conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, and schematic drawings. • Collaborate with the full design team and follow QMS procedures. • Contribute to traffic safety, ITS, and traffic operations projects. • Utilize CADD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads. • Attend an invitation‑only hiring event in Atlanta on Feb 11‑12 2026 (networking mixer and interviews).

What You Bring
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Traffic/ITS/Safety Intern for our Atlanta office. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with at least one year of study completed. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, and experience with CADD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads is preferred. The position is hybrid, based in Atlanta, GA, with an hourly rate of $18‑$21. • Pursue a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (minimum one year completed). • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
