About the Role
• Interact and collaborate with staff on various projects. • Attend project meetings with senior staff and help resolve technical and administrative issues. • Learn marketing and business development, build client database and maintain contacts. • Learn to manage project budgets, prepare invoices and support collection efforts. • Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff. • Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines in consultation with supervisor. • Develop management capabilities for environmental projects with technical support. • Assist in preparing training and development proposals. • Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis, and provide recommendations with senior staff. • Complete internal Phase I ESA training and conduct Phase I ESAs under supervision. • Perform site reconnaissance, file review, and report preparation with senior staff. • Produce basic technical writing, collaborate on reports, and improve writing skills as guided. • Supervise field work of drill and test‑pit crews, address rig access issues on groundwater and soil investigations. • Conduct media sampling and ensure site restoration before demobilization. • Perform boring and test‑pit layouts and evaluate site access under senior oversight. • Assist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance; communicate onsite conditions affecting scope, budget, or technology. • Assist with underground storage tank assessments.

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Staff Project Manager to join our Environmental team. This role performs specific field tasks assigned per project by more senior staff, with growth in responsibility as experience is gained. Work is primarily field‑based with limited office work initially, and the ideal candidate demonstrates a positive customer‑service attitude and aligns with ECS Core Values. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, and have at least two years of experience conducting Phase I and Phase II ESAs. A valid driver’s license is required, and the role may involve lifting up to 40 lb and walking on uneven terrain.
