About the Role

Associate Directors work on a wide variety of utilities programmes, including water treatment, mains installation, environmental improvement and strategic resource options. They are expected to provide strategic direction, ensure health and safety compliance, and deliver sustainable solutions for diverse client needs. • Lead multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects and programmes in the utilities sector. • Set strategic direction and drive performance against high standards. • Ensure health, safety and wellbeing compliance, applying CDM principles. • Anticipate client challenges and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions. • Build and nurture inclusive client and industry partnerships. • Coach, mentor and develop project managers and emerging talent. • Manage complex procurement processes and NEC or other contract types. • Oversee commercial arrangements and deliver value‑added outcomes.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, the ability to manage multiple disciplines and advisors, and a collaborative, inclusive mindset. They will mentor teams, build lasting client relationships, and navigate ambiguous environments while maintaining high performance standards. Relevant experience includes end‑to‑end delivery of utilities or water infrastructure projects, complex procurement and NEC contract management, and high‑level commercial oversight. Preferred qualifications are a degree in a construction‑related field, chartered status with APM or ICE, and certifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, NEBOSH or CDM awareness. • Possess end‑to‑end experience in water or utilities infrastructure delivery. • Hold a degree in construction, management or related discipline; chartered status preferred. • Hold project management certifications (PRINCE2, MSP, ChPP) and relevant H&S qualifications (NEBOSH, CSCS, CDM awareness).
