About the Role

The CSO will have overall responsibility for managing all contractors and visitors on site, ensuring compliance with local procedures, RAMS, health‑and‑safety policies and the client’s subcontractor control process. The role acts as the primary liaison between subcontractors, JLL and the client to maintain clear communication before, during and after works. • Manage required isolations with trained authorised persons • Oversee contractor and visitor sign‑in/out process and maintain attendance board • Conduct pre‑start meetings with contractors and sub‑contractors • Issue compliance paperwork and verify RAMS before work begins • Ensure proper barriers, signage and safety measures are in place prior to job start • Attend daily interface meetings to discuss planned works • Communicate work plans to stakeholders and coordinate with other parties • Ensure contractors fully understand instructions before commencing work • Perform periodic inspections of contractor work and assure performance • Notify infrastructure maintenance manager of safety or quality issues • Report incidents and near‑misses and assist with investigations • Manage delivery of small works schemes on site • Act as the working‑at‑height responsible person • Mentor and train the CSO team, arranging required training • Drive operational excellence and meet KPI and SLA targets • Conduct regular site safety inspections and safety walks • Ensure legislative health‑and‑safety compliance for all activities • Build and maintain relationships with the client, IFM team and wider stakeholders • Support IM and FM in supervising the site IM team • Lead by example in health‑and‑safety management and participate in training

What You Bring

Successful candidates will have a proven track record of managing contractors and subcontractors in hard FM, commercial or industrial properties, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead large teams. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS or equivalent, and solid knowledge of M&E services, QHSE, risk management and relevant legislation are required. • Proven experience managing contractors/sub‑contractors in hard FM, commercial/industrial properties • Strong written and verbal customer communication skills • Ability to lead large teams, manage time and people effectively • Excellent knowledge of M&E building services, QHSE, and risk management • Familiarity with relevant legislation, permits and SSoWs • Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS (preferred) • Preferred training: asbestos awareness, working at height, hot‑work
