About the Role

In this role you will create basic mechanical designs, perform equipment selections and calculations, and gradually take on more complex projects while collaborating with a technical team. You will also represent Syska Hennessy Group, coordinate with architects and engineers, conduct field inspections, and assist senior engineers with due‑diligence and technical reports. • Create basic mechanical designs and perform equipment selections, load, energy, and pressure drop calculations under senior guidance. • Represent Syska Hennessy Group and liaise with internal design teams, clients, architects, contractors, and vendors. • Coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. • Conduct field inspections to assess existing conditions and integrate new work. • Assist senior engineers in due‑diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and technical drawings using CAD/Revit. • Organize master drawings following company standards. • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of work assignments. • Attend continuing‑education seminars on technical or professional topics.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III‑IV to join our growing team in Los Angeles or Irvine, California. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3.5–7 years of MEP experience on aviation, healthcare, commercial or mission‑critical projects, and is proficient with the latest AutoCAD MEP and Revit. Strong Revit and MEP marking‑up skills, basic knowledge of system selection, applicable codes, and an FE certification are required; experience with energy‑analysis software and project management is a plus. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. • 3.5–7+ years of MEP experience on aviation, healthcare, commercial, or mission‑critical projects. • Proficiency with the latest AutoCAD MEP and Revit versions. • Strong Revit and MEP marking‑up skills, producing detailed construction drawings. • Familiarity with energy‑analysis tools such as eQuest or Trace. • Basic understanding of system selection and applicable codes. • FE certification. • Preference for experience in mission‑critical, science‑technology, healthcare, and project management.
