About the Role

Fabricators at the Wausau facility are responsible for grinding, drilling, and assembling bridge girder components, which may include welding, cleanup, and assorted shop tasks. The role requires interpreting blueprints, maintaining a clean workspace, and coordinating with supervisors to meet production targets. Work is performed in a large indoor warehouse and may also occur outdoors under various weather conditions, with required personal protective equipment. • Drill, install high‑strength bolts, and grind steel components. • Perform fillet and groove welds using SMAW, SAW, and FCAW. • Read and interpret blueprints. • Maintain clean, organized work area and proper material storage. • Use appropriate safety equipment for all operations. • Coordinate with supervisor and team to complete work orders on time. • Work indoors in a large warehouse or outdoors in all weather conditions.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required. • Strong attendance and commitment to attendance policies. • 1+ year fabrication or welding experience preferred. • Ability to lift 50+ lb and push/move objects up to 50 lb of force. • Pulling capacity up to 122 lb of force. • Must stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and have full range of motion for reaching and bending. • Agile fingers and thumbs on both hands. • Exposure to dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, and heavy steel. • Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, steel‑toed boots.

Veritas Steel offers a training wage of $23.67 per hour, with 2nd‑shift rates starting at $25.17 and weekend‑shift rates at $26.67. Employees can be hired for either the 2nd shift or the weekend shift, providing flexibility.
