HVAC Service Technician

About the Role

The current opening is for an HVAC Service Technician. The role involves servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, diagnosing and repairing units using hand tools and blueprints, and performing preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as requested by customers. Technicians prepare for on‑site work by reviewing building layouts, gathering materials, and coordinating tasks, while also inspecting and maintaining company vehicles and equipment. They document all work, track parts and labor costs, order necessary parts, and provide technical support to customers. The position requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and regular travel, including occasional overnight trips. • Service products and equipment on assigned projects and ensure customer satisfaction • Use hand tools and follow blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed or requested • Prepare for on‑site installation and repairs by reviewing building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating work • Inspect vehicles for condition and cleanliness • Maintain vehicles by keeping service records, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance • Inspect equipment for wear and notify customer or Operations Manager of findings • Document work by completing paperwork for each job, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintain files • Serve as a direct customer contact representing the company • Determine parts to order for repairs and ensure timely procurement • Record parts, material, labor, subcontractor, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources • Submit all required paperwork and reports promptly • Stay current on product installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair information • Read and interpret product specifications • Provide technical support to customers • Travel regularly with some overnight travel as needed
