About the Role
The Carpenter Helper assists skilled carpenters and works under direct supervision. The role requires general carpentry knowledge and the ability to use hand and power tools to support the Carpenter or Carpenter Foreman in designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. The helper seeks improvement opportunities, learns safety hazards, and works in plant operations or construction job sites. • Assist carpenter in laying out work • Help lift, position, secure, and cut materials during installation • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment • Keep work area stocked with necessary materials • Provide assistance to other craft workers as needed • Perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg tasks with good hand‑eye coordination • Operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) after training • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds • Work in various postures: bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, standing, and lifting • Work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) • Maintain focus amid distractions and varying work tempos • Apply decision‑making skills and attention to detail

What You Bring
The position demands physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), frequent hand/arm use, climbing, and working in varied weather and terrain.
