Lead modular architectural design and BIM coordination for complex projects

About the Role

This is a full‑time, permanent, in‑office position. • Deliver accurate architectural and structural drawing packages on time within manufacturing specifications. • Model and prepare drawings and BOMs using Revit in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering and Estimating teams within the Autodesk ACC environment. • Prepare detailed and accurate structural framing drawings using Arkance (Revit Framing Plug‑in). • Prepare BOMs and material take‑offs directly from the 3D model. • Review and approve shop drawings and vendor submittals. • Lead coordination of architectural and structural designs with electrical, mechanical and structural disciplines to ensure seamless integration with manufacturing. • Reference product cost estimates during drawing development and raise significant anomalies with internal stakeholders. • Ensure designs comply with relevant Canadian and US building codes, standards, regulations and procedures. • Communicate effectively with third‑party consultants such as architects, energy‑code and building‑envelope engineers. • Develop new and standard architectural and structural detail work. • Mentor junior designers. • Collaborate daily with the plant and project sites to improve designs and construction processes. • Continuously develop Engineering Standards, Drawing Standards and templates with the BIM Specialist. • Operate within the ISO quality system and company safety policy throughout all assignment phases.

What You Bring
We are seeking a Senior Architectural Designer who loves big ideas, smart details, and shaping the future of the modular industry. In this role you will work closely with engineering disciplines, supply‑chain, project management and plant partners, teaming with the Architectural Design Manager to develop modular drawings for both standard products and new permanent modular buildings such as multi‑storey residential projects. • 7+ years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist or equivalent. • Expert‑level Revit and BIM skills; Arkance experience is an asset (training provided). • Proficient with Autodesk tools (CAD), Microsoft Office; TwinMotion and Photoshop are assets. • Knowledgeable in project‑management processes (RFIs, RFPs, time management, meeting minutes). • Strong understanding of building envelope details. • Experience with volumetric modular or pre‑engineered building technologies is an asset. • Passionate about manufacturing processes and comfortable in fast‑paced, fast‑track project environments. • Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Codes and Standards; familiarity with IBC is an asset. • Solid understanding of engineering practices in wood‑construction industries. • Knowledge of Energy Codes (9.36, NECB) and their impact on building envelopes. • Understanding of multidisciplinary design systems (electrical, mechanical) and building specifications. • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and planning skills. • Self‑starter who works well independently and under pressure. • Experience mentoring junior staff.
