About the Role
The Caster Process Engineer provides support for decision‑making related to operations and maintenance of the caster and supporting equipment. This role develops process improvements and technical support to optimize manufacturing of steel sheets, meet customer‑specific high‑end quality requirements, and ensure reliability, operations, and maintenance excellence. Using data integration and statistical analysis, the engineer monitors and analyzes process and equipment conditions to drive maintenance, improvements, and upgrades. The role also develops and conducts technical training for the caster team to ensure safe, effective operation and on‑time delivery of quality steel. • Provide process development and technical support for caster operations to optimize steel sheet manufacturing. • Monitor and analyze process and equipment data using statistical methods to drive maintenance, improvements, and upgrades. • Develop and deliver technical training for the caster team to ensure safe and effective operation. • Lead process improvement initiatives and coordinate quality and cost‑reduction efforts. • Ensure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

What You Bring
Safety is paramount at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum qualifications include a four‑year degree in engineering or a directly related field and two years of heavy‑industry experience in engineering process support for casting. Preferred qualifications include experience with SQL databases, ibaPDA and ibaAnalyzer software, technical training experience, and leading cross‑functional teams. • Hold a four‑year engineering degree and at least two years of heavy‑industry casting process support experience. • Preferred: experience with SQL databases, ibaPDA/ibaAnalyzer software, technical training, and leading cross‑functional teams.
