Apprentice Plasterer
Apprenticeship to train as a plasterer, mixing/applying plaster and learning trade skills.

About the Role
As a plasterer you will learn about a range of products and manage jobs that vary with the materials used. Responsibilities include mixing and applying plaster to walls and ceilings, working with dry‑lining, and applying protective external finishes such as pebble dashing. The role is physically demanding, involving lifting, working at height, and both indoor and outdoor tasks. The apprenticeship curriculum covers developing good working relationships, complying with health, safety and welfare standards, applying solid plaster to various backgrounds and complex surfaces, producing external rendering finishes, and installing mechanically fixed plasterboard. • Participation in the annual Mears Fun Day event.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have the potential to work at SCQF Level 6/7, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain good customer relationships. A pre‑employment assessment and interview will be undertaken. Candidates must live within a North Lanarkshire postcode and be able to travel independently. Mears brings 30 years of experience in repairs and maintenance, handling over 6,000 daily repairs across more than one million homes. The four‑year apprenticeship combines paid work with formal training, allowing you to earn while you learn alongside skilled tradespeople. The company seeks individuals with integrity, self‑reliance, motivation, problem‑solving abilities and pride in their work. All roles require the right to work in the UK; Mears does not sponsor visas. To drive a Mears vehicle you must be over 21, have held your licence for at least three months, and have fewer than nine penalty points. Background, identity and security checks are completed before employment begins.
