About the Role

The operative will deliver high‑quality repairs and maintenance across occupied social‑housing properties, handling a variety of trades such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating. The job requires adaptability, problem‑solving and a focus on excellent customer service, as no two days are the same. • Perform responsive repairs in occupied social housing, covering carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating. • Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, internal doors, handles, locks and hinges. • Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors. • Fix minor plumbing problems such as leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks. • Patch plaster and make good damaged walls or ceilings. • Carry out wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing. • Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repairs. • Work sensitively in occupied homes, respecting residents' privacy and needs. • Record job details, materials and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets. • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good condition. • Manage daily workload to meet service level targets and report any further works or safeguarding concerns.

What You Bring

Mears Group is offering a full‑time permanent position as a Multi‑Skilled Operative in Dartford, with a salary up to £39,235 per year, a company van and a fuel card for a 42.5‑hour week (8‑5, Monday‑Friday). The role supports a busy responsive‑repairs contract and may involve travel to other UK sites as required.
