About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the direction of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include work on chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks while supporting drivers on a single, technologically advanced fleet. Technicians perform preventative and corrective maintenance both on‑site and on the road, providing safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently. They use electronic diagnostic tools to locate malfunctions, conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, and complete all required company training programs. • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, control, hydraulic/electrical, air brake, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems • Conduct basic tire services including replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation • Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions • Perform line‑maintenance welding and fabrication • Participate in short‑ and long‑term disability and life insurance plans

What You Bring
Applicants must have at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel powered equipment, or be graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within three months. A basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and experience with Classes 1‑5 light/medium‑duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships is required. ASE certifications and a commercial driver’s license are advantageous but not mandatory, and a valid driver’s license is required. • Minimum 1 year experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or graduating from an accredited automotive program within 3 months • Understand work‑order labor time standards • Experience with Classes 1‑5 light/medium‑duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships • ASE certifications (T1‑T8) preferred • Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license a plus
