About the Role
The Senior Manager – Nuclear Quality Assurance is a pivotal role within Ameresco’s Federal and Utility Solutions business, responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving a rigorous Nuclear Quality Assurance (QA/QC) program. This leader ensures all construction activities meet the highest standards of nuclear safety, regulatory compliance, and performance, supporting safe, compliant, and high‑performing nuclear projects, including Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) initiatives. • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan and Nuclear QA/QC Program aligned with ASME NQA‑1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, DOE Order 414.1D, and relevant codes. • Champion a strong nuclear safety culture, encouraging staff to raise quality or safety concerns and exercise stop‑work authority. • Interpret and apply NRC, DOE/NNSA, and client requirements, ensuring compliance with ASME Section III, AWS, ACI, ASTM, and other standards for safety‑related structures and systems. • Lead the onsite QA/QC team, planning and executing audits, surveillance programs, and facilitating regulatory and client audits. • Oversee issues management, including identification, documentation, root‑cause analysis, and closure of nonconformances and corrective actions. • Maintain collaborative relationships with client quality representatives, regulators, and project leadership, reporting QA performance and audit results. • Use quality data and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement and Total Quality Management in construction practices. • Review confidential U.S. security information as required for project work. • Manage QA/QC teams, influence contractors, and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders. • Apply quality metrics, dashboards, and database systems to track inspections and nonconformances.

What You Bring
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of ten years of quality assurance experience in the nuclear industry, including prior QA leadership on large‑scale projects. Candidates must be able to review confidential U.S. security information and possess strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Additional qualifications include in‑depth knowledge of ASME NQA‑1, NRC 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, DOE Order 414.1D, and related codes, broad familiarity with construction standards such as AWS, ACI, ASTM, IEEE, and EPRI, and preferably certification as an ASME NQA‑1 Lead Auditor. Professional certifications such as ASQ CMQ/OE, CQA, AWS, ACI, ASNT, or NACE are considered a plus.

Benefits
The anticipated base salary range is $134,000–$194,000, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package that may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and performance‑based incentives. Compensation varies by location and may include remote work arrangements, with actual pay dependent on internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
