About the Role

The role involves designing, managing, and supervising projects as assigned by the Group Leader, often acting as design team leader and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. Responsibilities include detailed design, preparation of specifications, reports, drawings, budgeting, and on‑site supervision of workmanship and testing. • Establish client briefs, technical requirements, scope, cost plans, and deliverables with the Group Leader. • Coordinate design efforts across engineering disciplines and serve as design team leader when required. • Produce detailed designs, specifications, reports, and drawings following industry guidelines. • Supervise on‑site work, workmanship, testing, and ensure compliance with CDM regulations. • Monitor project progress, design variations, financial budgets, and resource requirements. • Conduct regular in‑house design reviews to maintain technical compliance and quality. • Maintain strong client and team relationships to achieve high satisfaction and repeat business. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients. • Implement and manage QA systems and health‑and‑safety procedures on all projects. • Oversee contract staff or third‑party appointments. • Assist the Group Leader in identifying personal training/CPD needs and developing working practices. • Present and communicate project information effectively to stakeholders.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a personable self‑starter with a positive, can‑do attitude, excellent working relationships, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. They thrive under pressure, manage varied workloads, meet tight deadlines, and uphold the highest technical standards. • Minimum six years of experience designing and managing engineering projects, preferably water distribution systems. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software. • Demonstrated project engineering and management experience. • Strong presentation and communication skills. • Ability to produce and coordinate CAD drawings and model simulations. • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
