About the Role

The Scale House Operator serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a WM facility. They calculate payments, inspect loads for safety, and enforce safety rules for customers and staff. • Greet customers, direct traffic, and answer questions accurately. • Calculate customer payments correctly. • Inspect incoming garbage loads for safety and prohibited materials. • Ensure customers and employees wear required PPE and conduct business safely. • Perform general upkeep of the Scale House. • Complete administrative tasks, including filing and required reports. • Keep the immediate supervisor informed of problems or matters needing attention. • Attend company‑sponsored training and meetings as directed. • Perform additional duties such as data entry and minor customer service tasks. • Approach all interactions with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
