About the Role

Key responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing space‑system tests and experiments; designing advanced test programs using scientific and statistical methods; creating and reviewing test documentation such as test plans, safety packages, and data‑analysis management plans; and performing pre‑test analysis with modeling and simulation or hardware‑in‑the‑loop to define test events and go/no‑go criteria. The engineer will manage data collection, conduct quality‑control reviews, resolve anomalies, and produce test reports and presentations. They will also develop or enhance data‑analysis tools and simulate system effectiveness under realistic operational scenarios. • Plan, coordinate, and execute space systems tests and experiments for US Space Force STARCOM. • Design and conduct advanced test programs using scientific and statistical tools such as design of experiments. • Develop and review test documentation including test plans, safety packages, data analysis management plans, and briefing materials. • Perform pre‑test analysis, model‑based simulations, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop assessments to define test events and go/no‑go criteria. • Manage data collection, quality control, anomaly resolution, and generate test reports and presentations. • Provide technical expertise in space communications, sensors, GNC, architectures, or cyber domains.

What You Bring

The position supports the United States Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) Test and Evaluation Squadrons at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required, and candidates should have experience across the acquisition lifecycle and multiple test phases, including contractor, developmental, operational, and live‑fire testing of space systems. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in operations research, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related science and at least ten years of systems or test engineering experience with DoD space, ground, operations, and sustainment programs. Applicants must possess subject‑matter expertise in test and evaluation, be comfortable with methodologies such as modeling and simulation, live‑fire testing, and design of experiments, and hold a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Desired qualifications include a master’s degree, Space Weapons officer experience, specialized T&E training, DoD acquisition professional development, and certifications such as Test and Evaluation Level 3. Knowledge of orbital mechanics, space‑related data communications, and statistical techniques for large data sets is also valued. • Hold a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in a quantitative field and 10+ years of systems/test engineering experience with DoD space programs. • Possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; certifications such as T&E Level 3 or ADPD are preferred.
