Job Highlights
About the Role
The successful candidate will work with a company‑wide team to drive projects from early planning and permitting through construction, bringing extensive environmental consulting and project management experience, preferably in renewable energy, electric transmission, and gas transmission. The role includes taking ownership of existing and future projects and expanding SWCA’s presence in the Northeastern sub‑region. • Lead project teams through permitting challenges and ensure client needs are met. • Develop permitting strategies, oversee QA/QC of deliverables, and manage technical studies. • Support regional VPs/Directors in creating and implementing business plans. • Manage New England and broader Northeast utility projects, including NEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act, and state permitting. • Cultivate existing and new energy market clients, leading key accounts. • Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing technical guidance and quality control. • Collaborate with Technical Directors to advance policies, procedures, and quality initiatives. • Participate in business development meetings and regional hiring efforts. • Represent SWCA at professional conferences, trainings, and client events.

What You Bring
• Minimum qualifications: BS in biology or related field, 8+ years natural resources consulting, 3+ years project management, 2+ years leading multidisciplinary staff, experience with state and federal agencies, MA experience, valid driver’s license. • Preferred qualifications: MS degree, established regulator and utility client relationships in the Northeast, success managing multi‑year utility projects, experience in NH, CT, RI, ME (NY a plus).
