About the Role
The role involves operating a wide range of heavy equipment, including front‑end loaders of 4 cubic yards or larger, motor graders, 20‑ton‑class excavators, dozers, scrapers, tractors, track hoes, skid pans, trenchers, as well as light and medium machines. Operators will use this equipment to perform construction tasks such as land clearing, mass excavation, pond and reservoir digging, rough and finish grading of roadways, and underground utility installation for civil, industrial, and wind‑energy projects. Primary duties include promoting and adhering to all company safety policies, operating equipment safely while detecting mechanical issues, and coordinating machine movements with crew signals. Operators will drive blades to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rock, load materials onto trucks, and execute trench excavation to OSHA‑specified slopes. Routine maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling, as well as completing daily maintenance reports, is required. What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of heavy‑equipment operation experience, with a total of one to three years of related experience or equivalent training. Knowledge of MIC health and safety programs, active participation in daily toolbox meetings, and the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedural documents are essential. Applicants should possess basic arithmetic skills for weight and volume calculations and demonstrate common‑sense comprehension of written and oral instructions. The ability to follow precise standards and procedures is required. The position works up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and weather conditions, demanding sustained physical strength and stamina. Employees must regularly lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 lb and perform motions such as stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling. Use of personal protective equipment—including safety‑toe footwear, gloves, eye and hearing protection, hard hat, and high‑visibility vest—is mandatory, as is compliance with fall‑protection requirements when working at heights. Workers must maintain good balance, visual and auditory acuity, and coordinate eye‑hand‑foot movements. • Minimum 1 year heavy‑equipment experience; 1‑3 years related experience acceptable. • Ability to read safety rules, operating manuals, and perform basic math calculations. • Physical stamina to lift 50 lb loads, work 12‑hour shifts, and operate in varied weather. • Must wear required PPE and comply with fall‑protection requirements.

Compensation ranges from $28.00 to $31.50 per hour, with performance‑based merit increases.
