About the Role
• Conduct analyses to develop mechanical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications • Perform routine engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results • Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables • Work on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects • Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Mechanical EITs or Technicians as needed

What You Bring
To help support our rapidly growing mechanical needs in the Data Center market, HDR is seeking a talented Coordinator/EIT who has experience working hard to meet aggressive deadlines. The Data Center market has extremely aggressive design schedules, often with late changes, and the substantial mechanical cooling, HVAC and coordination needs are significant for everyone working on these projects. This position offers immensely valuable experience, working on cutting‑edge technologies with a variety of exposure to different trades, systems, and stakeholders. The candidate will also help develop our mechanical bench with early‑career staff by receiving regular coaching and mentoring to grow their design capabilities and expertise. • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression • Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm • Experience designing HVAC systems for building projects • Proficiency in Revit • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)
