About the Role
The Manager, Category leads the development and execution of category strategies for one or more small to moderate‑sized categories, working under the guidance of senior procurement leadership. This role ensures alignment with business partners and stakeholders, optimizes sources of supply, and drives business opportunities. Key responsibilities include owning the category end‑to‑end—managing stakeholders, conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships—while continuously improving processes. The manager collaborates with corporate, area, and business unit partners to create unified strategies, standardizes procedures, and implements supplier performance initiatives to achieve year‑over‑year goals and support team development. • Develop and implement unified category strategies with corporate, area, and business unit partners. • Lead process standardization and improvement initiatives to meet business requirements. • Implement supplier performance management programs for continuous enhancement. • Achieve year‑over‑year goals, mentor team members, and manage multiple projects with competing timelines.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of supply chain or procurement experience, with preferred expertise in multi‑category contract negotiations and professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or Six Sigma. The role also requires two or more years of leadership experience, advanced e‑procurement and Excel skills (including VBA), strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication for building internal and external relationships. • Own category strategy, stakeholder management, negotiation, market research, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement. • Minimum 5 years of supply chain or procurement experience. • Direct contract negotiation experience across multiple spend categories. • Professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, Six Sigma) and Lean/Continuous Improvement expertise. • At least 2 years of experience leading or directing others. • Advanced e‑procurement and MS Excel skills, including VBA programming, macros, and complex formulas. • Strong analytical skills focused on total cost of ownership and sourcing strategy development. • Effective written and verbal communication to build strong internal and external relationships.
