About the Role
The Utility Engineer supports stationary engineers with service, preventive maintenance, installations, modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting of building and HVAC equipment, utilizing the CMMS work order system. Key duties include conducting building rounds to inspect and clean storm drains, lighting, entry doors, and elevators, tracking maintenance through a computerized system, and maintaining detailed logs using Microsoft Office tools. Additional responsibilities involve hanging framed objects, performing pond maintenance, servicing restroom equipment, initiating purchases of parts and supplies according to company procedures, and providing technical assistance for those purchases. • Perform building rounds, inspecting and cleaning storm drains, lighting, entry doors, and elevators. • Use CMMS to track and coordinate maintenance work orders. • Maintain maintenance logs and records in Microsoft Office applications. • Communicate via radio, cell phone, and email. • Conduct minor shop repairs and cleaning. • Replace filters in air handling and water purification equipment. • Patch and paint walls. • Inspect and replace ceiling tiles. • Inspect and replace fire extinguishers. • Inspect, replace, and clean lights and fixtures. • Hang framed objects such as pictures and whiteboards. • Perform pond maintenance, including chemical dosing and cleaning pump baskets. • Service restroom equipment (toilets, sinks, soap dispensers). • Initiate purchase of parts, materials, and supplies per company procedures. • Provide technical assistance to facilitate purchases.

What You Bring
The role requires strong communication via radio, cell phone, and email, teamwork, adherence to directions, and the ability to perform minor shop repairs, filter replacements, wall patching, ceiling tile work, fire extinguisher servicing, and lighting maintenance. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid CA driver’s license and insurance, willingness to continue training on new equipment, and the ability to work assigned shifts.
