About the Role

The Vehicle Inspection Station Compliance Officer will work Monday‑Friday, primarily on the road at vehicle repair stations or from home, with paid mileage provided. This self‑managed role involves auditing Pennsylvania DOT‑related inspection stations, handling investigations, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Key duties include conducting station audits in Philadelphia and surrounding counties, appointing or canceling stations, investigating station activities, issuing suspensions to stations or technicians, responding to consumer complaints, and testifying at departmental hearings. • Obtain and maintain Safety Inspection Mechanic and Certified Emission Inspector certifications (company‑paid). • Read and interpret state and federal regulations for inspection station compliance.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid, clean driver’s license. • Lift up to 50 lb, sit/stand frequently, drive up to 90 minutes continuously, and work in hot/cold shop conditions. • Strong computer skills and proficiency with office and company equipment. • Work independently with minimal supervision after training. • Understand basic mechanical components and simple math. • Excellent communication skills for public interaction and accurate documentation of violations. • Prior auditing or investigative experience is a plus; automotive knowledge not required.
