About the Role

The Manager, reporting to the Senior Director of Compliance Audit Services, is responsible for overseeing auditor training and implementing audit procedures to ensure independent, objective environmental, health & safety, and transportation compliance reviews across the company. In this role the manager directs audit staff, conducts compliance audits, reviews audit reports and corrective actions, and ensures adherence to program procedures and regulatory requirements. The manager also develops audit schedules, allocates resources, and continuously improves audit tools and training materials. Supervisory duties include direct oversight of up to six full‑time employees and indirect supervision of additional staff, requiring strong leadership, performance evaluation, and coaching capabilities. • Supervise up to 6 full‑time auditors and provide direction on audit standards. • Conduct environmental, health & safety, and DOT compliance audits with audit staff. • Review internal and external audit reports, corrective actions, and ensure regulatory adherence. • Develop and manage audit schedules, assigning staff to audit assignments. • Create and improve audit tools, training materials, and coach employees. • Evaluate employee performance and deliver training.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public health, engineering, biology or a related science and have at least seven years of relevant experience. Preferred credentials include Certified Professional Auditor status, and a solid knowledge of EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. The position requires up to 60 % travel and the ability to work both in an office setting and in the field, where occasional exposure to physical hazards, dirt, odors and extreme weather may occur. Candidates must be able to obtain a REAL ID or approved alternative for travel and access to federal property. • Hold a B.S. in Environmental Studies, Public Health, Engineering, Biology, or related field. • Possess at least 7 years of relevant experience; Certified Professional Auditor preferred. • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead diverse teams. • Travel up to 60 % and work in field environments with occasional physical hazards.
