What You Bring

The role of Archaeology Technician II is a remote, part‑time, on‑call position based in Phoenix, AZ or Albuquerque, NM, reporting to the Phoenix Cultural Resources team. The technician will work on cultural resource surveys, archaeological monitoring, and excavation projects, primarily in New Mexico and Arizona, and must be willing to travel overnight as needed. The position requires a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant archaeological field experience, a valid driver’s license, and U.S. citizenship. Preferred candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in anthropology or archaeology, have three or more years of field methodology experience, and have completed an archaeological field school. • High school diploma plus 2 years relevant experience or equivalent. • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. • U.S. citizenship required. • Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field (preferred). • 3+ years experience with survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring techniques. • Completion of an archaeological field school (highly desired). • Proficiency with GPS, Microsoft applications, and archaeological data collection technology. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
