SUE Technician III
Conduct SUE field work using locators, GPR, vacuum excavation, and supervise crew.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Collaborate with a team to tackle diverse SUE projects. • Read and interpret utility records, as‑built, survey drawings, and highway design plans. • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck to perform test holes exposing utilities. • Apply appropriate maintenance‑of‑traffic procedures and submit “One‑Call” tickets. • Coordinate survey work in relation to SUE and supervise field crew activities. • Train junior crew members and represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field with utilities and clients. • Maintain a clean driving record and prioritize safety for self and others.

What You Bring
• Minimum 5 years experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies. • Experience with vacuum excavation preferred. • Quickly grasp new technologies and possess basic computer skills for new software. • Proficient communication and internal collaboration abilities. • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather, walking several miles daily, and lifting up to 80 lb. • Willingness to travel out of town, work overtime, and occasional nights/weekends. • English proficiency for reading, writing, and verbal instructions.

Compensation ranges from $33.00 to $44.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications, and the role requires passing a pre‑employment drug screen with ongoing random testing.
