About the Role

The role involves performing maintenance and construction activities on high‑voltage substations and transmission lines up to 345 kV, requiring extensive travel throughout the United States. A strong safety‑first mindset is essential, with an expectation to complete work correctly the first time. Key duties include working around wind turbines, maintaining electrical collection systems, troubleshooting and testing components, and servicing underground transmission, substation, and fiber‑optic control systems. The employee will also manage daily safety documentation, inventory material, and replace defective equipment as needed. • Work in and around wind turbines • Interact professionally with customers and coworkers daily • Perform maintenance/construction on electrical collection systems (underground cable faults, pad‑mount transformers, switchgear, T‑bodies, splices, wind turbine wiring up to 34.5 kV) • Attend daily safety meetings and complete safety paperwork • Prioritize safety and demonstrate it on the job • Conduct daily/weekly material inventory • Diagnose and resolve issues that could cause unexpected shutdowns or system failures • Troubleshoot and test electrical components and systems • Service underground transmission systems, substations, and fiber‑optic sensing/control systems • Replace worn or malfunctioning components • Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health and safety per Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles • Perform line locates, splice cable, conduct TTR testing, and replace pad‑mount transformers • Perform rigging and signal crane operators • Conduct VLF, megger testing, infrared scanning, fault locating, bushing exchanges, and battery replacements • Create concise reports related to testing performed • Implement LOTO and switching plans, and develop project plans

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, possess at least two years of electrical industry experience (or a related degree/certificate) and a valid driver’s license. They should be proficient with basic computer tasks, reading schematics, using power tools, and following industrial safety protocols such as LOTO, while being able to work physically demanding jobs in adverse weather conditions and communicate effectively with clients and team members. • High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum 2 years electrical industry experience (preventative maintenance or related degree/certificate) plus 1 additional year of experience • Valid driver’s license • Basic computer operation and internet navigation skills • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and schematics • Strong attention to detail with precise execution of directions • Experience using basic power tools • Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including LOTO • Ability to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions • Comfort working remotely with limited supervisory interaction • Effective communication with managers, clients, customers, and the public • Proficiency in arithmetic operations and common units of measure • Ability to operate manlift, forklift, and skid steer • Accurate material management • Interact effectively with clients • Communicate effectively with others

Compensation ranges from $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, with performance‑based merit increases and eligibility for a rotation back home.
