About the Role

The welder will perform layout, alignment, cutting, assembly, and welding of metal components in multiple positions, using arc, TIG, and submerged‑arc equipment while adhering to safety standards and welding procedures. • Select equipment, plan layouts, and apply welding techniques based on geometry and metal properties. • Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components in various body positions. • Bolt, clamp, and tack‑weld parts to secure them for final welding. • Set up and operate arc, gas‑shielded, submerged‑arc, and TIG welding equipment. • Perform welding on piping systems using appropriate procedures for different metals (carbon steel, stainless, chrome). • Identify required equipment, safety hazards, and job‑specific processes. • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. • Assist pipe fitters with pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication. • Maintain and transport required tools: metal tool box, stinger, TIG rig, welding hood, chipping hammer, pliers, crescent wrenches, tape, file, beater, torpedo level, combination square, gloves, leather aprons, rain coat, and rubber boots. • Meet physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights with fall protection.

What You Bring

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Industrial Combination Welder for Exxon Mobil Beaumont in Texas, with no per diem offered. The role involves welding, fabricating, and assisting pipe fitters to install various industrial pipe systems. Candidates must have at least four years of industrial pipe welding experience, the ability to weld in 2G, 4G, and 6G positions, proficiency in stick and TIG welding, and a current Zachry certification or the ability to pass a weld test. They must read blueprints, understand metal properties, have reliable transportation, and be able to work at heights. The job requires physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in hot weather while wearing full PPE. This position has no direct reports. • Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, and leather work boots. • Possess current Zachry or Zachry ROF certification (preferred) and prior experience with Zachry Industrial or combined‑cycle power plant projects. • Reliable transportation and ability to work in hot weather conditions.
