About the Role

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you will help design the critical infrastructure that powers the digital age, from high‑performance data centers enabling AI to dynamic commercial spaces where people work and connect. Our multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineers collaborate to optimize energy efficiency, integrate resilient systems, and shape the future built environment. The Structural Coordinator/EIT will prepare structural analysis models using tools such as ETABS, RAM, SAFE and RISA, develop detailed Revit models, and independently perform equipment anchorage calculations. You will also conduct basic structural design for steel, concrete, masonry and timber members, perform field observations, and represent structural engineering in team meetings, working on small projects independently or supporting senior engineers on larger assignments. • Prepare structural analysis models with ETABS, RAM, SAFE, and RISA under senior guidance. • Develop detailed digital building models in Revit. • Perform independent equipment anchorage calculations and designs. • Manage small projects autonomously or assist senior engineers on larger projects. • Conduct basic structural calculations and design members in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. • Perform field observations and represent structural engineering in team meetings.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include an Engineer-in‑Training (EIT) certificate or a commitment to obtain one, prior structural design experience in an internship or full‑time role, and a master’s degree. These credentials help accelerate career progression within HDR. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering and proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS and SAFE. A strong attitude toward actively participating in our employee‑owned culture is essential. • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or willingness to obtain it). • Prior structural design experience through internships or full‑time roles. • Master's degree in a relevant field. • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, STAAD, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar tools. • Demonstrated commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
