About the Role
The Senior Environmental Planner will lead environmental permitting for a variety of projects, from SEQR short forms to joint applications requiring multiple agency approvals. Responsibilities include tracking permit timelines, coordinating impact assessments, managing consultant deliverables, and serving as the primary liaison with federal and state agencies such as USFWS, USACE, and NYS OGS. • Complete environmental permitting for projects ranging from SEQR short forms to multi‑agency joint applications • Track and coordinate permit timelines to align with project schedules • Oversee upcoming projects requiring environmental review and regulatory compliance • Coordinate SEQRA environmental impact assessments • Advance and expedite environmental studies for EISs, EAs, and related documents • Manage consultant deliverables covering endangered species, ecology, energy, air/noise, visual, and environmental justice • Participate in project meetings with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies; prepare related communications • Represent design and construction teams in interactions with federal and state environmental agencies • Assist in preparing environmental permit applications and approvals

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least eight years of experience with NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting, or a master's degree that can offset two years of experience. A relevant accredited degree, strong communication and leadership abilities, and a recent track record of environmental analysis—covering at least 50 % of their work—are essential. • Minimum eight years of NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting experience (master’s degree may substitute two years) • Recent NYS work experience (within 2 years) and fluency with current NYS environmental regulations • Accredited degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for managing multiple project portfolios • Proven experience coordinating with designers and both NYS and federal regulatory agencies • At least 50 % of work dedicated to environmental analysis, including impact statements, rule consultation, and field investigations across water, wetlands, air, waste, and mining

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 annually, a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, and a collaborative work environment.
